PHILADELPHIA, PA – JULY 7, 2007- Soulforce Creations Inc proudly announces the release of Revolution of the Spirit, a new music CD written and produced by conflict resolution teacher Sharon Silver and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Daniel Sembello. Some of the greatest musicians in the world came together to honor heroes including Desmond Tutu, Mohandas Gandhi, Leo Tolstoy, Sojourner Truth, Henry David Thoreau, Jane Addams, Cesar Chavez, Aung San Suu Kyi and others. Vinnie Colaiuta, Jimmy Haslip, Mark Hudson, Ringo Starr, Greg Phillinganes, Bakithi Kumalo, Michael Sembello, David Batteau, Randy Waldman and Nestor Torres are just a few of the talented artists featured on the CD. Even Archbishop Desmond Tutu lends his voice to “Walk Through the Fire,” which is dedicated to those who fought the injustice of the apartheid system in South Africa. “Our initial vision was that young people would be empowered and educated through the experience of the music, but the CD evolved into much more than that,” Silver said. “Ask any kid to recite the lyrics of any song,” Sembello added. “Now ask him to recite his history lesson. He’ll remember the lyrics because the music and the melody bring the message to his soul.” Silver is a passionate educator who has traveled throughout the world exploring different cultures and philosophies and has a particular interest in justice and peace. Sembello is a successful songwriter who won his first Grammy at an early age and has written songs for artists such as Celine Dion, Patti LaBelle, the Pointer Sisters, Monica, Brandy, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chaka Khan, George Benson, Jeffrey Osborne, and many others. Soulforce Creations Inc plans to distribute the CD through organizations working for justice and nonviolence.
